DUSK
As the day comes
to an end
so do our plans for
its hours.
For some, it's te end
of struggles;
for others a day
of joy and laughter.
For most it's a period
of unconsciousness
ruled by habit
and learned expectations -
missing the smile
of the crippled child
or the opportunity
to demonstrate forgiveness,
forgetting gratitude
and the chance to breathe
into the night's
world of reflection.
