One tree
standing proud
among the others.
Dead branches
extending
from extremities,
green leaves
bursting from
newer sections
reminding us
that we cannot
dispel ourselves
of who we are, but rather
allow new growth
as the familiar
completes its purpose
and paves the path
for change.
